Branding Your Event
There is nothing more important than spreading awareness of you event. And the key to doing just that is branding. Any product, logo, or event that you can remember off the top of your head has successfully branded itself. Hence the word “brand.”
I’m here to provide you some basic steps to branding your event and make it memorable.
1.) Name: Would you be excited to tell your friends that you’re going to some pumpkin throwing contest? Or would you rather spread the word about Pumpkin Chunkin’? A catchy name or tagline is the first step to a great brand.
2.) Design: A recognizable logo is key. Meet with someone who is knowledgeable in graphic design to help choose the colors and font that associate with your event and theme. Create something that attendees will be happy to wear around on a t-shirt.
3.) Benefits: Offer some type of incentive. Delmarva Public Radio’s Silent Night Out auction in December will offer VIP passes at a higher rate. This will give attendees a chance to meet the band and get free things. Attendees are encouraged to buy VIP passes because they are getting more bang for their buck.
4.) Social Media: Engage potential attendees! Think about it. If you invited everyone on your Facebook friends list to a Facebook event, how many of them would show? Now, share information about the event with them, answer their questions, give them reasons to attend, and I guarantee more people will be at that event.
Think about your favorite brands and try to borrow some of their techniques.
Just build your brand!
